Nevada Employment Profile

Located in the West region, the traditional drivers of the Silver State’s economy have been gaming and construction. Currently, the ratio of tourism/gaming/entertainment sector employment to total employment is the highest in the nation, with one-third of Nevada’s workforce employed in these industries. Construction is the fastest growing sector in jobs. One of the primary goals of Nevada’s economic development efforts is to diversify its economy to enhance more broad-based growth.
